Value of Item Affixes at Release

There are over 30x item affixes in Diablo 3. It’s one of the beauties of the game. The randomized magic properties generally make or break any particular item. There’s all sorts of times for example: +damage bonuses , +life from healthglobes, +magic find, chance on hit to X and the list goes on and on.

The item affixes on your character can also make or break your progression speeds in the game. (I call these “level happy items”) The item affixes people will be searching for when leveling will be completely different from end game where they want to stomp Inferno mobs and smash other players in Diablo 3 PvP. Keep this in mind.

Players Will Gobble Up Specific Items

Various item affixes at a lower level will be valued greatly, but completely useless on higher level gear down the road. If you want to capitalize on the deflated economy at release you should hunt for items in game and on both auction houses that have specific affixes during the lower levels.  The motivation for players to buy happy level items will be a faster and easier leveling experience. It’s hard to say how educated and aware the average buyer will be. Either way this list can help you determine the true and potential value.

Some of these level happy items should be highly profitable within the first several weeks – first month. You should be looking to pick all these up for yourself and a few should sell almost immediately.

Statistics to Look for

Weapon DPS – Most players will look at the DPS of a weapon, there’s a good chance they will ignore the statistics. You should be able to sell high DPS weapons with ease. The fact the masses will ignore the statistics + the scarcity of items will make any high DPS weapon sought after. The truth is high DPS alone should not indicate what you should use on your own character.

+Damage –  This adds flat damage increase and is overall OP and too valuable! It has a HUGE effect on your DPS, it’s insane. There were some +damage rings in Beta that were highly valued. We’ll see how fast people without the beta recognize its potency.

+%Attack Speed – Originally thought to be the biggest damage increaser, its right behind flat damage. It’s obvious it’s valuable to me, I’m uncertain about how much of the population knows it’s worth.

+%Movement speed – I can see a decent amount of people buying these sorts of items. They are worth picking up on your character for sure.

+Strength/Intellect/Dexterity – (depending on the class for damage) – Especially if there’s a high amount of the stat for its allotted class. People will be stacking their respected class’s statistic relentlessly. I can see items with high amounts of these statistics selling like hot cakes.

+Exp per kill – I can see this being extremely sought after – especially if it has a high amount.

+%ExpMost valued statistic for leveling in the game.

+%Gold Find – accumulated amounts of this will make your character a farming MACHINE. This should be EXTREMELY valuable near release. Gold’s value in general is going to be through the roof.

+%Magic Find –I can see a lot of people overpaying for overrated MF items. I think it’s nearly worthless during the early leveling stages if you can choose any of the other statistics.

+Gather Health Globe and Gold Radius – An extremely undervalued statistic – you only need a little, but it improves your speeds dramatically.

Red gems - These will be insanely valuable. They increase +%Exp gains when socketed in the helm and increase flat damage in weapons. I don’t see why people would want other gems.
