Will it be TOO Easy?

Blizzard just released a new video regarding Nightmare, Hell and Inferno mode; answering questions to the ease of the Diablo 3 Beta. This is Blizzards attempt to appease Beta testing skeptics. My question to you, will bosses really one shot you if you don’t stack defensive gear and will rare mob spawns promise death?

Blizzard Tweaks Difficulties

The Diablo 3 difficulties may be more unpredictable than we expect. Inferno initially used to  have a flat difficulty throughout each act; now it will painstakingly harder as you progress. Additionally, the Beta has been tweaked multiple times and has gotten harder with each difficulty update.

With Random Scenarios – Inferno Could be Exceptionally Hard

My belief is the developers are being straight up honest and the game will be much harder than most people can fully grasp at the moment. This may sound random, but think about Halo campaign for all you Halo fans. That game too had 4x difficulties just like the Diablo 3 difficulties and this game was no joke. The game eventually resulted in near suicide in the last two difficulties and it wasn’t unlikely to have unachievable stages in the game. If you found yourself with the wrong saving point you would spawn with a bunch of ass kicking mobs that took forever to kill and could nearly one shot you.

Likewise, as you get into Hell mode and Inferno I can see mobs being harder than expected, especially when given random modifiers and spawn points. I suspect some mobs will be able to deal damage way too quickly and unpredictably if not properly observed and strategically dealt with. In addition bosses will get exponentially harder with expansive abilities. I highly doubt Diablo 3 Bots will be successful in these later difficulties.

Gear is a Necessity

A key point most people will be underestimating and therefore miss is having high end gear from the previous Diablo 3 difficulties. It wouldn’t surprise me if you had to have the top gear just to crawl through Inferno without wanting to smash your face through the nearest brick wall. Unless of course you play the Most OP Diablo 3 class.

Do you really think you can just play through Normal-Hell or Normal-Inferno without dedicating a large portion of your attention to your gear/gems as you progress? Don’t make this potentially fatal, time wasting mistake. Rather be farming gear and gold opposed to dying, getting frustrating and blowing all gold on repairs with little to no gains.

  1. I’ve watched this video dozens of times in the past few weeks. I’m very happy to have a near-impossible difficulty setting.

Like you said, it does offer advanced players two options: (1) run through a moderate difficulty without much trouble and gain upgrades and gold along the way. Or, (2) battle their way slowly and carefully through Inferno with the hope of landing one of those rare items that only drop on the game’s hardest difficulty setting.

Having a choice is great. I bet most people will alternate between the two.

My biggest question is: Which class will perform the best in Inferno Mode? I wrote a few of my thoughts down; I’m still not sure what the answer is:
